FAQs

In cosmetic applications, BOTOX can rejuvenate your appearance by smoothing fine facial lines, including frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet. Additionally, it can elevate eyebrows, address the “gummy smile,” reduce the prominence of jaw muscles for a slimmer face, and offer various other enhancements. Medically, BOTOX effectively addresses issues like excessive sweating and provides relief from tension headaches.

BOTOX belongs to the category of neuromodulators, a variation of botulinum toxin type A, which is precisely injected into targeted treatment zones. These compounds function by interrupting the nerve signals essential for the contraction of facial muscles. Administered through an ultra-fine needle, this purified protein targets the muscles responsible for wrinkle formation, leading to a significant reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. By preventing muscle contractions, it progressively diminishes the depth and intensity of these facial imperfections.

The outcomes of BOTOX treatment typically endure for approximately 3-4 months after the treatment date. As time passes, the body metabolizes the product, gradually restoring muscle movement in the treated area. To extend the longevity of Botox results, individuals can opt to remain consistent with treatments, following the recommended treatment schedule provided by their nurse injector.

There is no specific or incorrect age to commence BOTOX treatments. Typically, most individuals begin considering treatment in their mid-20s to early 30s. As a general guideline, it’s advisable to contemplate treatment when you observe that wrinkles persist after making an expression but fade when your face is at rest. However, each person’s circumstances are unique, and it’s recommended to consult with a medical professional before undergoing any treatment.

Indeed, Botox is approved by the FDA and Health Canada. Possible side effects of a BOTOX treatment can encompass temporary bruising, swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection site, all of which typically resolve on their own within a few days to a week. Following the pre and post-care instructions diligently and ensuring proper administration by the injector can help minimize the likelihood of adverse effects.

The quantity of BOTOX required, along with the associated cost, varies from person to person. Factors influencing this may encompass the treatment area, muscle strength, desired outcomes, and previous treatment history.

Filler is employed to promptly replenish lost volume, resulting in a rejuvenated and well-rested appearance. It’s versatile and can enhance areas like cheeks, lips, and temples while also smoothing deep lines such as smile lines and hollows around the eyes.

Filler, composed of hyaluronic acid, is a naturally occurring molecule in the human body. It has the ability to bind and retain water within the skin, ensuring hydration and nourishment, while simultaneously providing volume and fullness. Consequently, dermal filler treatments effectively reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Furthermore, hyaluronic acid is naturally broken down by our own bodies over time.

The effects of dermal fillers become noticeable immediately after your treatment and continue to enhance over the following few weeks. The final results are typically evaluated at your follow-up appointment, which is scheduled for 2 weeks after your initial treatment.

The duration of dermal filler effects can range from 8 months to 2 years. The longevity of results is influenced by several factors, including the client’s age, metabolism, treated area, the type and quality of filler utilized, the quantity of filler administered, and one’s lifestyle.

Yes, the dermal filler brands and products we use are both FDA and Health Canada approved.

Commonly, mild swelling, redness, and bruising are observed after filler injections, and they may take 1 to 2 weeks to fully subside.

By adhering to pre and post-care instructions and ensuring proper administration of the treatment by the injector, the likelihood of adverse effects is minimized.

The quantity of dermal filler required and its associated cost varies for each person. Factors influencing this may encompass the treatment area, desired outcome, and previous treatment history.

FAQs

We go through a questioner about your skin to make sure that laser is an excellent choice for you as well as defining the best laser intensity. In addition, details for preparation for the laser will be provided

Soprano ICE is the latest generation of the award-winning Soprano laser hair removal system. It is one of the most complete and effective laser hair removal system available today.

Soprano ICE is an advanced hair removal platform that incorporates multiple laser wavelengths and technologies. It offers power and versatility that allows you to treat the widest range of patients and hair types all year round.

Soprano ICE uses Alma Laser’s SHR method, which is a clinically proven method of laser hair removal that is virtually painless. The unique heating and energy delivery method effectively damages the hair follicle while preventing injury and pain to the surrounding tissue. At the same time, integrated ICETM tech cools the skin surface, preventing superficial burns and the sensation of pain.

Absolutely. Soprano ICE’s SHR method has been proven in multiple clinical studies as the safest method of laser hair removal for all skin types. With SHR, hair follicles are damaged not by a single pulse of high energy which can injure the skin, but by repetitive short energy pulses. These pulses produce heat build-up which gradually raises the temperature of the dermis to the level needed for preventing hair growth, while minimizing the risk of burns.

Yes. While the melanin in dark skin is exponentially more sensitive to the heat used in laser treatment, Soprano ICE’s SHR method has been clinically proven to be the safe for dark skin types. Rather than exposing the hair follicle to a single high energy pulse which can cause trauma to skin with a high melanin count, SHR gradually heats the skin until the required heat energy is delivered to the hair follicle. This makes SHR the safest laser hair removal option, including for dark skinned patients.

Yes. Soprano ICE’s SHR method affects the melanin of the skin using a unique method, allowing the procedure to be performed anytime of the year as well as on tanned skin. Furthermore, sun exposure is less traumatic to the skin following SHR treatment.

Treatments with Soprano ICE are easily delegated to clinical staff. The Soprano ICE system is simple to operate featuring a user-friendly interface. Treatments are clean and quick with no disposables.

While Soprano ICE offers the fastest laser hair removal solution available today, the duration of treatment can vary depending on the patient’s skin color, hair type and the area being treated. Treatment time can range from a few seconds for a small area such as above the upper lip, to 8 minutes for the entire back.

This is probably the most popular Soprano ICE FAQ. The answer is – depending on the patient’s skin and hair type, results are typically seen following 6 to 8 treatment sessions.

The hair should be shaved a day before your appointment. Otherwise, the entire hair will absorb the energy and heat up, which can burn the skin, as that singed hair hits the skin. It also means less energy will reach the base of the follicle, so the results will be less than optimal.

  • Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, waxing, chemical peels or collagen injections for two weeks prior to the procedure.
  • Do not use perfumes, deodorants or any potential irritants in the treatment area before and after treatment.
  • Avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements due to increased risk of bleeding.

Following treatment, patients should expect:

  • Some redness and swelling of the hair follicle, which is a normal occurrence.
  • Pain and discomfort, which can be easily treated with over-the-counter pain medicines.
  • To be given a prescription for a topical antiseptic cream to be applied after treatment.
  • An advice to avoid direct sun exposure for at least one week following all laser hair removal procedures.

Pre and Post Care

Pre-treatment Care

1. The area to be treated must be clean-shaven.
2. Avoid UV exposure 7 days prior to your treatment.
3. Avoid sunless tanning products 7 days prior to your treatment. It is recommended that you exfoliate the area to remove any residual color. 4. If applicable, apply numbing cream 30 to 40 minutes prior to your treatment. All products must be completely removed prior to treatment.
5. Clients should come to appointments with clean skin in the area to be treated. All clients who are treating any part of their face or neck will be required to cleanse their entire face in the clinic.
6. Avoid chemical peels and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior and two weeks after your laser treatment.
7. Avoid all alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxyl products (AHA/BHA), hydroquinone, retinols/retinoid, Tazorac, and Differin for 7 days before treatment.
8. Clients with any abnormal lesions, moles or spots on the area to be treated must be cleared by a medical practitioner prior to treatment.
9. Clients must stop waxing, tweezing and chemical epilation 3 weeks prior to treatment.
10. If you are prone to cold sores, it is highly recommended to take an anti-viral medication (such as Valtrex) prior to your treatment. Clients with active cold sores will not be treated.
11. Clients who have used Accutane or similar products within the last 6 months CANNOT have laser hair removal treatments.
12. Client should not perform any physical activity that increases body temperature or blood pressure within 2 hours before and after treatments.
13. If you have Botox or dermal fillers in the area to be treated, wait 14 days both before and after injection to receive treatments.
14. Antibiotics may increase photosensitivity. We recommend that you check with your personal physician prior to receiving laser treatments if you are taking a long-term antibiotic. If you become ill and begin taking an antibiotic, you will need to be off the medication for 7 days before laser treatment.

Post-treatment Care

1. Avoid extended UV exposure for 7 days post-treatment.
2. If blisters occur, do not puncture. If skin is broken, apply an antibiotic ointment until healed.
3. Tylenol is recommended for post-treatment discomfort.
4. You may also apply Zensa healing cream (highest recommended), cool towels, ice packs or aloe vera to alleviate discomfort due to heat.
5. Avoid any additional laser treatments or chemical procedures on the treated area for at least 2 weeks post-treatment or until healing has occurred.
6. Using a broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 or higher is critical when receiving laser treatments and is recommended ongoing for maintenance.
7. To achieve the best results, complete the full 8 treatments, every 4 weeks.
8. Exfoliate treated areas to minimize risk of ingrown hairs.
